Jovita Pristovšek is a philosopher and theorist. Her research focuses on race and racialization in the context of contemporary regimes of the aesthetic, the public and the political, and at the intersection of philosophy, aesthetics, theories of contemporary art, epistemology and post- and decolonial theory. In her doctoral thesis, she analysed structural and institutional racism; using the concept of race as a central analytical tool for looking at "post-political" global space, she traced the genealogy of structural racism as it manifests itself in three forms of social production - aesthetic, public and political. Her research topics also include biopolitics, necropolitics, (de)coloniality, sovereignty, the sublime, public space, politics of representation, conviviality and community.
