Belgrade–Ljubljana is the first volume with memories of everyday life in the Slovenian region and its surroundings in the past century. In an area that was once considered common. In researching selected chapters of the 20th century, we are interested in the memories of the last decade of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, the two decades of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes/Yugoslavia and the memories of 45 years of the Democratic (DFJ), Federal People's Republic (FLRJ) and Socialist Federal Republic (SFRJ). And because we are more interested in everyday life than in chronological order, we begin with the description of a life story from the second half of the century. We have deliberately opted for a self-reflective description of a man who spent most of the second half of the century in three republics of the former common state.
According to one of the first readers, the autobiographical narrative of the university professor Stanojević offers an extremely interesting, sometimes humorous and, above all, lively description of life in the area between the northern foothills of the Kapela, Dubrovnik, Belgrade and Ljubljana. Thanks to its relaxed style, the book will appeal to a wide range of readers, even those without any particular historical knowledge. The vibrant social life between Ljubljana and Belgrade is portrayed through the lives of individual members of the author's immediate and extended family.
